1967, August 30 – The Plaza Theater opens with a showing of Hawaii, featuring Julie Andrews
1970s – Plitt Theaters takes over operations
1983, April 15 – The Plaza converts to twin screens with simultaneous showings of 48 Hrs. and The Man from Snowy River at $1 per ticket
1985 – Cineplex takes over operations
1990 – The Plaza closes temporarily
1991 – Classic Theatres Corp. reopens The Plaza with tickets at $1.50 and boxes of popcorn for $1
1998 – Nathan Block takes over as theater operator
2001 – Woodland Hills Church buys the Shopper’s City property, which included The Plaza Theater building
2013 – Woodland Hills begins operating the theater with The Lift, a non-profit that offered a job-skills program for local young people
2020 – The Plaza closes due to the COVID-19 pandemic
2026 – The Plaza reopens!
