How much are movie tickets?
All tickets are $5! We accept cash, and all major credit cards. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Plaza box office. You can purchase tickets in person ahead of time, but only on the weekend of the show you’d like to see.
What are your regular hours?
We are open on Friday evenings and Saturdays. The theater opens 20 minutes prior to the first showing on either day.
Do movies change weekly?
Each weekend will vary, but most weeks we will have at least one new title. The new schedule will be posted to the website on Wednesdays. You can also sign up for our weekly movie emails at the bottom of this page!
What kind of concessions do you offer?
- Popcorn, of course – with real butter (optional)
- Pepsi products
- A variety of candy
Does your popcorn contain dairy?
Our popcorn is popped in coconut oil, so it is vegan-friendly. The optional butter topping IS real butter!
Will you do special movie events?
Yes! Special events will be posted on our website when they’re scheduled.
Do you do rentals/private showings?
For now, we don’t. However, we hope to in the future and details will be posted here on our website.
Can I work at the Plaza?
Thanks for your interest! We’re currently leaning heavily on volunteers to run our weekend showings. However, in the future, the plan is to staff the theater through a job-skills program for youth/young adults, ages 16-24. We’ll have more info on that program here when it launches!
How do you handle R-rated movies?
Glad you asked! Here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Must be 17 or older and show ID.
- Under 17 must be with an adult.
- No kids under 6 years old. No exceptions.
A few other policies…
- Please don’t bring in outside food; we may ask to check your bag.
- Kids must be 13 to see movies alone.
- 2-year-olds and younger are free.
- For health and safety reasons, no pets please.
- Service animals are welcome.
Did I hear that a church runs the theater?
Yep! Woodland Hills is the big building just to the north of the Plaza, and we’ve owned the theater property since 2001. In late 2013 we began managing the theater and launched a job skills program for young people with The Lift, an East Side nonprofit. We love that we’ve been able to reopen the Plaza and get back to showing second-run Hollywood films that we know our neighbors love. And don’t worry: we aren’t into preaching to people who are just coming to see a movie!
